Ethan's First Trip to the Mountains

We are back from Colorado and have much to share. I think if Ethan does not spend any extended period of time in the car seat again he will not care. The trip up to Colorado was long and exhausting. Traveling with a fourteen month old and a pregnant woman is not easy! Poor Josh was a trooper through it all, although we were all just ready to get out of the car by the time we got to Josh's mom's house, which happened to be 6:30 in the morning. Ethan spent that day and pretty much the next recovering and sleeping lots!! Ethan had a great time with his cousin Abigael who is only 5 months younger than Ethan. They have only seen one another a handful of times, so it is fun to see how they change between visits. They are both extremely active and liked playing with one another, climbing the stairs together, and chasing Grandma's cat. Abigael is crawling all over the place while Ethan is walking all over the place so it gave me an idea what life will be like with two kiddos in the house! Phew!
We were in Colorado for Aunt Jamie's wedding, so we got to see lots of Aunt Jamie, Uncle Shane, and Grandma. Since it was a wedding lots of family came in and Ethan got to see his Grandpa again and meet his Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Munkeby for the very first time. We were able to get a four generation picture of the Munkeby men, which I will post later. Aunt Jamie's wedding was absolutely beautiful and Aunt Jamie was gorgeous. Josh had the honor and privilege of officiating his sister's wedding which was such a blessing for him.
After our time in Littleton, where Josh grew up, we headed to Gunnison to see one of my dearest friend's in the world, Desha. She has two kids now and it was so wonderful to spend time with them. It was the first time we had seen each other's sons so it was neat. The great thing about friends like Desha is that things remain completely comfortable and normal no matter how much time has time has passed between visits. It is a blessing to have a friend like her. She is like a sister to me and always will be! Ethan got sick right before we headed to Gunnison but had fun nevertheless. He got to see real snow for the first time and even got to go sledding in Crested Butte. He was not sure what to think of the whole sledding experience or the snow ;-)!
We left Gunnison Tuesday morning and headed back to Texas taking a different route this time. The trip was again extremely long. Josh and I laugh that Ethan is going to have nightmares about being in his car seat! It is good to be home but we had a great time in Colorado. The weather was absolutely wonderful and the mountains were beautiful as always! It was a great time away for us all.
